This section will help you download, install
and run A5 Accelerator.
The minimum system requirements
are:
• Pentium PC 200MHz (or equivalent)
• 64MB RAM
• 5MB of hard-drive space
• Internet Explorer 4.0 (or later) or Netscape Communicator
4.0 (or later)
Please note: A5 Accelerator works
on PC only. Mac and Linux are currently not supported.
1. Download:
Once you have completed the signup, you will be provided with a
location to download the A5 Accelerator
installer. Download the installer to your desktop. Once the download
has been completed, proceed to the Install.
2. Install:
On your desktop you will find an icon called "a5accel.exe". Double-click the
icon to start the installation procedure. Once the installation is complete,
A5 Accelerator will automatically start.
3. Starting A5 Accelerator:
A5 Accelerator will
automatically start when your computer starts up. Internet acceleration
will begin as soon as a supported browser (such as Internet Explorer)
is started. On most Windows platforms (XP, 2000, ME) an icon will
appear at the lower right hand corner of the system tray when the
A5 Accelerator Service
has been established. On all other Windows platforms, you can verify
that A5 Accelerator
Service has been established by selecting A5 Accelerator
Status from the pop-up menu.
4. Browse the Web:
Browse the web as you normally would. When finished, simply close
your browser and A5 Accelerator
will remain idle in your system tray. If you desire to stop the
application after browsing, select A5 Accelerator
from the pop-up menu, or if you desire to exit the application all
together, click Exit from the pop-up menu by right-clicking on the
icon at the lower right hand corner of the system tray.

Troubleshooting
When trying to connect to A5 Accelerator
Service, I get the error message, "A5 Accelerator
cannot connect to the A5 Accelerator Service..."
Here is a step-by-step list of things you should verify:
- Check that you have successfully connected to
A5 in your usual manner. This step is independent of
whether or not you launch A5 Accelerator.
- Ensure that the ISP that you are connected to is,
in fact, A5. You cannot connect to another ISP and use the same A5 Accelerator
connection settings.
- Try uninstalling A5 Accelerator
(ControlPanel-->Add/Remove Programs and select A5 Accelerator)
and then re-install it.
- Contact us (800-952-7525) to verify
that the A5 Accelerator
Service is up and running.
Errors
When attempting to connect to the A5 Accelerator Service,
I receive the error, "The A5 Accelerator Service does not allow connections
from your current IP address..."
The most common reason you would recieve this error is when you
connect to the Internet using a different ISP than A5. You can only use the A5 Accelerator
Service when connected to the Internet through A5.
When attempting to connect to the A5 Accelerator Service,
I receive the error, "The A5 Accelerator Service could not be started
due to an authentication timeout ..."
- Try reconnecting to your Internet service.
- If the problem persists contact us (800-952-7525)
for assistance.
I receive the error, "A5 Accelerator cannot be
started due to an internal error ..."
Here is a step-by-step list of things you should verify:
- Try restarting your machine and launching A5 Accelerator.
- If the problem persists contact us
(800-952-7525).
I receive the error, "A5 Accelerator
was unable to load the sdicore.dll library
..."
The likely cause of this is that you accidentally deleted
a file or resource required by A5 Accelerator.
Fully uninstall and then re-install A5 Accelerator.
